Making the Rounds

After my university’s commencement ceremony, Olivia ceremonially commenced to acting crazy at a graduation party on campus. The walls of the reception room could barely contain her. She spent a majority of her time eating cake and dancing on the dance floor, where she performed her round-and-round dance (see pictures above).

Well (Play)grounded

The warm, spring days allow us to explore the many playgrounds around town. Olivia’s inclined to inclines, preferring treks up steps over rides down slides. Here’s a picture of a rare solo descent.

Kids Grow Up Far Too Fast These Days

One afternoon they’re riding in the red wagon, the next they’re driving the family car.

Split Personality

O delights in scampering in the opposite direction of her parents. I was barely able to keep her and her mom in frame for this shot.

Hole in None

Our wee Michelle Wie still has some holes in her game. She strikes the ball with the wrong part of her club, putts away from the hole, and hopes no one catches her cheating.

Whale Rider

In the spirit of Keisha Castle-Hughes’s breakout performance in the movie of the same title, Olivia demonstrates that this Maori tribal tradition may extend beyond the waters of New Zealand.

Wee Sing...

…loudly. With Aunt Liz and G on backup, Olivia belted out some tunes after Easter brunch.

Stroller Derby

Olivia raced her new stroller – with her Cabbage Patch doll strapped in safely – around the house all day long. She paused long enough for us to snap these two pics.

Rockin’ the Suburbs

Olivia and I drove up to the ‘burbs to see my buddy Jim and his family this weekend. My hardheaded daughter insisted climbing in and rocking the chair by herself.

Jeem

Our child is scared of most people upon a first or second encounter. However, she warmed up to Jim right away. In fact, she spent the whole ride up asking about “Jeem.” Over the course of the day, Olivia even let him pick her up and accompany her up the stairs to the slide. This may be hard to believe given her usual skittishness, but the proof is in the pictures.

Like a Good Neighbor...

…Mama was there to meet up with her egg-collecting daughter during the employer-sponsored Easter egg hunt.

Superfluous Redundancy

Barn means “child” in Swedish, so Pottery Barn Kids might elicit some double takes in Stockholm. Here, Olivia peruses their catalog for some home decorating ideas.
